The Energy Foundation

The Energy Foundation China (EF China) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing sustainable energy development and addressing climate change in the People’s Republic of China. Established in 1999, EF China collaborates with a diverse network of partners, including government agencies, research institutions, and industry stakeholders, to support the country’s transition to a sustainable energy future.

EF China focuses on policy and standard research, capacity building, and international cooperation across seven key areas: power, industry, transportation, cities, environmental management, low-carbon economic growth, and strategic communications. The foundation operates at both national and subnational levels, implementing pilot projects in various provinces and cities to drive practical and scalable solutions.

The Asia Clean Energy Forum 2024 emphasized the need to reduce the region’s reliance on fossil fuels and take urgent action to meet the goals of the Conference of the Parties 28 of tripling renewable energy capacity and doubling energy efficiency by 2030.
