The United Kingdom–ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility (UK-ACGFTF) is a single-partner trust fund established in March 2023 under the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility, a facility of the ASEAN Infrastructure Fund. The UK-ACGFTF will provide concessional loan funds, support project origination and structuring, and deliver knowledge and capacity building among ADB’s developing member countries in Southeast Asia to contribute to the shift to low-emission, climate-resilient infrastructure development. The UK-ACGFTF is part of the ASEAN Green Recovery Platform launched at the Conference of the Parties 26.
In 2024, technical assistance was allocated to activities (i) supporting the ASEAN Power Grid initiative; (ii) the development of a green pipeline in the agriculture, food, nature, and rural development sectors across the region; (iii) supporting the start-up of the Nature Solutions Finance Hub; and (iv) continuing support for the ASEAN taxonomy. Support was also provided for study tours to foster capacity to enable Green, Social, Sustainable and Other Labeled bond issuances and to facilitate an innovative finance clinic on green data centers. Funds were also allocated to the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance knowledge and communications work, including reports, workshops, and visibility plans.
