Cofinancing powers 2 in every 5 ADB projects

ADB’s cofinancing operations in 2024 made a powerful impact, unlocking $14.9 billion from global partners to complement its $24.3 billion investment.

Two out of every five ADB projects and technical assistance attracted cofinancing, benefiting 39 of our 49 developing member countries.

The resources mobilized from partners amplify the reach of our critical projects in infrastructure, education, disaster resilience, and more.

Our partners mobilized $6.2 billion for sovereign operations and $8.7 billion for nonsovereign initiatives, driving impactful change across regions. These significant commitments were made possible through diverse partnership modalities.

For sovereign operations, partners contributed via project-specific cofinancing and trust funds. For nonsovereign operations, they engaged through official and commercial channels—supporting projects, programs, technical assistance, and transaction advisory services.
